GlenAllachie 7 Year Old Hungarian Virgin Oak Finish is a limited-edition Speyside single malt Scotch whisky from GlenAllachie’s Virgin Oak Series. Created to explore the flavour impact of rare Hungarian oak, this expression combines GlenAllachie’s rich house style with silky sweetness, citrus brightness, chocolate depth and warming spice.

This whisky was initially matured in American oak bourbon barrels before receiving a finishing period of around 18 months in fresh Hungarian oak casks. The Hungarian oak, sourced from the Zemplén forest in northeast Hungary, comes from slow-growing Quercus Petraea trees. The colder climate, higher altitude and rocky volcanic soil in that region help the trees develop a tight grain, which is desirable for whisky maturation.

Bottled at 48% ABV, with natural colour and non-chill filtration, GlenAllachie 7 Year Old Hungarian Virgin Oak Finish preserves more texture, aroma and cask-driven flavour. It is a strong choice for GlenAllachie fans, Speyside whisky drinkers, collectors and customers who enjoy unique oak-finished single malts.

On the nose, it opens with butterscotch, citrus, milk chocolate, cinnamon, raisins, orchard fruits and ginger. The palate brings heather honey, cinnamon, chocolate, lemon drops and caramelised brown sugar, creating a smooth, aromatic and well-balanced whisky with a distinctive oak signature.
